New clients, big coverage and strong results made August a standout month for Progressive PR, with activity spanning health, tourism, not for profit, and consumer brands.
The month kicked off with new research from client Latrobe Health Services, alongside the completion of the 500,000th ‘Shane Warne Legacy Health Check’ delivered through its partnership with Shane Warne Legacy. The milestone took place at the Diabetes Australia Congress in Melbourne, with PPR generating strong national media attention, including coverage on The Today Show and in the Herald Sun, highlighting the impact of the free health check program.
August marked the 40th anniversary of Daffodil Day, bringing Australians together to support vital cancer research. PPR led media relations alongside a targeted influencer campaign, generating a social reach of 154.5K and 4.4 million impressions. The campaign secured high-profile coverage across Channel 7’s The Morning Show and Sunrise, as well as the Herald Sun, helping amplify the fundraising message and raise awareness of the critical role of cancer research.
The following day, more than 700 of Australia's leading sporting, entertainment, and philanthropic figures gathered at the Palladium, Crown Melbourne for the 21st anniversary of The Million Dollar Lunch. Organised by the Children's Cancer Foundation and proudly supported by Crown Resorts Foundation, the prestigious event raised more than $2.3 million to support children and families impacted by cancer.
The event's media relations were led by PPR, building momentum in the lead-up through strategic talent and media opportunities. This included securing an exclusive Herald Sun photoshoot with Event Chair, Rianna Ponting, giving readers a behind-the-scenes look of the event's much anticipated desserts. On the day, coverage was shared across The Age, Herald Sun, Channel 7 and Channel 9, further raising the profile of the event and its fundraising impact.
Following the successful July launch of Seek the Heat, a brand-new wellness experience at Peninsula Hot Springs, PPR continued to build momentum throughout August with ongoing media pitching and curated media visits, giving journalists the opportunity to experience the offering first-hand with a view to drive visitation.
Christmas may still be on the horizon, but PPR’s toy team is already well underway, delivering campaigns across clients including Just Play, VTech and Jazwares, and working with major licensors including Sesame Street, Disney, BBC, Paramount, Warner Bros., Hasbro and LEGO®.
PPR closed out August with a number of new client wins, expanding its portfolio across the charity, not-for-profit and consumer sectors. New clients include IMC Toys, for which PPR is delivering a targeted social media campaign supporting the launch of its latest Baby Paws range, and Project Better, with PPR leading media relations for its upcoming gym launches.
The agency has also welcomed Inuka Community, HeartKids and BoardPro, further strengthening its work with purpose-led organisations and brands.
With strong momentum behind the team, September is already underway with new campaigns, launches and opportunities as PPR heads into the final months of the year.
